Learning to swim as soon as possible is good, because swimming could be of vital importance.

When swimming, children train with the greatest of ease their mobility, coordination ability and endurance, and it benefits their independence, self-sufficiency and self-esteem.
Swimming is a kind of sport which cares for and strengthens the body at the same time and which can be practiced until old age.

Learning to swim – where others make holidays

Often swimming pools are situated far away and changing one’s clothes take so long that there remains only a little time for classes.
Groups are often very big and the swimming teacher can’t focus on those children who can’t swim nor on the different learning paces.
Waiting lists also aren’t rare.

That’s why the swimming school “Swimfuerte” in Fuerteventura (Canary Islands) offers your children swimming but also snorkelling courses from May till October.
Children have the opportunity to familiarize with water and to learn to swim with the help of a qualified staff that pays attention for every child, in groups with a maximum of 3 children or in private classes.

The pleasant atmosphere under the sun of Fuerteventura and the personal flair of „Swimfuerte“ make possible that parents can dangle their soul while their child learns swimming with us.

We also offer the possibility to learn to snorkel correctly under professional guidance and having fun.

Schwimming School  „SWIMFUERTE“.

In 1999 the Dutchwoman Helga Palmers-Brittig founded the swimming school „Swimfuerte“. The degreed sport teacher, after finishing her degree at the “Katholieke Akademie voor Lichamelijke Oefening” in Tilburg, worked a lot with children and young people and later she made her dream of teaching children to swim come true.
During the summer season, from May till October, the swimming school “Swimfuerte” is opened and offers in various hotels of Corralejo its swimming courses.
Since 2000 there is also cooperation with the DSV (“German Swimming Association”) so that the swimming teachers of “Swimfuerte” can give swimming badges and issue the corresponding certificates.
